Hummingbirds In Color

Here are some of the paintings of a series I am doing about life in my garden. They are all 2.5" x 3.5". If you would like to see their pancil versions, check out some of my older posts. These are the hummingbirds that visited us daily. They were not shy. They would come to look at you closely, hovering only inches from your face!

Animator/Designer
Responsible for all levels of design using Photoshop.
Complete an animation quota of five to seven minutes in a five week turn around, using Flash.

Creative Capers - March 2009 - April 2009
Freelance Animator
Completed a quota of between 30 and 70 seconds a week of symbol animation.
Reported daily to the client.
Uploaded files to an FTP

Fatkat Animation Studios - June 2005 - March 2009
Animator/Designer: Three Delivery
Completed an animation quota of thirty seconds a week.
Classical style Flash animation, rough, clean, color, shadow.
Moved onto design and worked with a supervisor to complete a quota of prop and character designs with a two week turnaround each show.

Animation Supervisor/Animator: Supernormal
Worked under one director supervising four other animators.
Completed a quota of thirty five to forty seconds a week.
Assigned quota to animators. Reviewed and gave revisions to the team.

Can a dog Appreciate a Sunset?

Can a dog appreciate a sunset? I think they can. This is a painting of my dog Eddie as he gazes out on Castalia Marsh on Grand Manan Island, one of our favorite places. Maybe I put too many human emotions into him, but he really was looking out there for a long time and with such a contemplative attitude.
This painting was done especially for an art auction put on by Fatkat Animation studios, care of Dan Helle. The auction was to help support the Miramichi S.P.C.A.

Fox and Grapes

This is a painting that I did for an art auction that was put on by the Miramichi Art Corps. The auction was to help the community buy a mammogram machine. the subject matter was a bit of a mistake since the fox, raven and grapes never appear all together in any of Aesop's tales. I wanted them to be in a storybook style.

Girl and Fox

This is a rough drawing for a large 18"x24" watercolor painting I intend to do. A girl and a fox hiding under an evergreen tree to get out of the rain. I like to imagine people who live in the forest peacefully along side animals.

Humming Bird

We have a fun little humming bird who is really quite friendly. He will come right up to you and see what is in you cereal bowl as you enjoy breakfast on the porch. This is a rough characature of him for a series of 2.5"x3.5" watercolor paintings I intend to do.

Mary Ann

This lovely lady Mary Ann and she has quite the attitude! She is one of my two chickens and this is a rough sketch that will be a part of 9 or 10 small 2.5"x3.5" watercolor paintings.

Wanda

Here is Wanda, she is the more peaceful and easy going of the two. She loves to eat! and devours plants, bugs and even snakes! Stay away from my strawberries Wanda! This is also a rough for my small trading card series.

Blueberries

This was an assignment from the Art Corps, an organization in the Miramichi which I belong to. The subject was "Favorite season". My favorite season is summer so I did a quick little painting of wild blueberries which I love to eat in the summer.

Heritage Trail

I painted this scene on site along the Heritage Trail in Oakville Ontario. One of my former favorite dog walking trails.

Winter Spirit

This is a Winter Spirit that I created out of an old shirt, a steering wheel cover and an old pair of boxer shorts.
When it is -40 outside and you are keeping warm by the fire this winter spirit howls his displeasure in the frozen forest. Trees bend and snow drifts across a frozen wasteland. He is lonely, but as he howls around your windows and seeps through their cracks, beware. don't let the cold claim you.
